Emily Dickinson, TS Eliot, Robert Frost Essay -- Informative, Authors
The three authors that I chose were Emily Dickinson (1830-1886), TS Eliot (1888-1965), and Robert Frost (1874-1963). I chose them because first they all were born in the eighteen century and most of their writings dealt with death and dying. I do not believe the elements that Emily Dickinson would be a good source for me to incorporate into my writing because with her writings I found them very hard to understand, possibly because of the timeline or the fact that she wrote in such a secretive code with words. If we have some familiarity with these means, or formal elements of poetry, our understanding and enjoyment of the poem will be greatly increased (Charters page 762). There were very few of her poems that I could understand or even enjoy reading, I felt a sense of bleakness, despair, loneliness in most of the poems that she wrote. In her poem ââ¬Å"She diedââ¬âthis was the way she died. There was the use of eye rhyme (Charters page 764) when she used the word spied and ended the poem by saying ââ¬Å"upon the mortal sideâ⬠. Also in her poem Iââ¬â¢m nobody! Who are you? Sounds as if she also had a low self esteem by stating that she was a nobody. Today, in the 20th century if a person wrote words as such they would probably be diagnosed with depression with suicidal ideology, mostly because of the poems ââ¬Å"I felt a funeral in my brain, and Thereââ¬â¢s been a death in the opposite houseâ⬠all very bleak and gloomy. The best poem of Emily Dickinson to me would be the one ââ¬Å"I never saw a moorâ⬠because I like the rhythm of the poem and can completely agree with the direction that the poet is taking the readers and once again I can see eye rhyme (Charters Page 764) with the words Heaven and given within the poem. I actually really enjoye... ...ll become old and to remember our youth, donââ¬â¢t take it for granted. Also, his poem ââ¬Å"To Earthwardâ⬠was a mixture of lyric poetry (Charters page 811), ode (Charters page 815) and alliteration (Charters page 762). The examples of this mixture would be the use of the words: musk, dusk, honeysuckle, knuckle, salt, fault, love, clove, hand, sand, enough and rough. His writings were not as dreadful and bleak as Emily Dickinsonââ¬â¢s poems. The poem ââ¬Å"Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Eveningâ⬠was easy to read with a constant rhythm, and there was no question what he was talking about. I believe if I was to choose any of the above writers and incorporate their unique form of writing into my own would be Robert Frost because of his direct approach, the tone that he used, and the rhythmic way he put his words together to make it work for the poem and the audience.

Bus 599 Paper
Master Degree in Business Administration Strayer University Strategic Management BUS 599 Assignment 3 Submitted in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the MBA program Abstract Through this paper, one will understand the trends in the global beer market. There will also be the possibility of Modeloââ¬â¢s international expansion. There will also be an assessment about the next foreign market that Modelo should get involved with. A decision about the challenges that Modelo faces from their competition InBev and how Modelo should respond to this beer industry giant is presented in this paper. Last but not least, a discussion about weather or not Modelo should diversify their business is stated in this paper. Historically, the brewing business was known as a local industry. Furthermore, only few of the brewers were known at an international level. During the past decades, there were a lot of consolidations done within the beer industry. With the past few years, the process of global beer consolidation grew even higher. By the year 2008, there were two major acquisitions made within the global brewing industry. The two acquisitions were made of Scottish and New Castle by Carlsberg and Heineken. The other acquisition was done of Anheuser-Busch by InBev. (www. carlsberggroup. com). The trend of beer over the last five years had a combined annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4. 8% worldwide. (www. encyclopedia. com/doc/1G2-2843300064. html. ). Within Central America and South America, the CAGR increased to 6. 3%. Africa also showed growth by having CAGR that got up to 6. 4%. A key note about the growth of beer was shown in Asia. www. encyclopedia. com/doc/1G2-2843300064. html). The trends of beer for the last five years have being tilting toward consumers wanting expensive beers. Due to that, expensive beers or premium beers accumulated 17% of the beer sales globally. The premium beer market of North America as well as Western Europe sales happen to be higher than the global average for premium beers. www. carlsberggroup. com/company/market). Due to the high economic downturn, the consumption of prem ium beer became very low. Grupo Modelo happens to be the most popular and largest makers of beer in the country of Mexico. Over the years, this company has strived for excellence and became the 12th largest producers of beer in the world by 1998. (www. businessweek. com/globalbiz/content/aug2008/gb20080814_195868. html). Grupo Modeloââ¬â¢s most famous brand of beer is the Corona Extra. Corona Extra was noted as the first among imported light beers within the United States in the year 1997. Moreover, Corona Extra was ranked the fifth in light beers worldwide in 1997. Grupo Modelo is the producer of nine brands of beer within their company. Modelo mission is to ââ¬Å"produce, distribute and sell quality beer at a competitive price, optimizing resources and surpassing customersââ¬â¢ expectation in order to contribute to the social development of Mexico. â⬠(www. gmodelo. com. mx). Due to North Americaââ¬â¢s Free Trade Agenda (which eliminated barriers as well as tariffs) Modelo made a strategic business move that involved protecting themselves from having to deal with U. S. beer taking over their sales in Mexico. Moreover, Grupo Modelo Company decided to become partners with Anheuser-Busch. The deal of partnership with Anheuser-Busch allowed Modelo to be an exclusive distributor of all the Anheuser-Busch products in the country of Mexico. Within the United States, four different brands of beers produced by Modelo were sold and distributed by Barton Beer. Anheuser-Busch did not distribute any of Modeloââ¬â¢s beers within the United States. With the partnership of Modeloââ¬â¢s and Anheuser-Busch, Anheuser-Busch was not doing very well in Mexico. Moreover, Anheuser-Busch beers (Budweiser and Bud Light) during that time of the late 90ââ¬â¢s were only selling well in tourist areas within Mexico. Due to this discouraging fact of Anheuser-Busch only doing well in tourist areas of Mexico, they decided to raise their equity in Grupo Modelo to 37% in 1995 and proceeded to raise equity to 57% in 1997. By raising their equity in Grupo Modelo to 57%, Anheuser-Busch total investment came up to about $1. 6 billion. Modelo decided in 1996 to renew their alliances with Barton Beers and Gambrinus for a decade. This decision made by Grupo Modelo angered Anheuser-Busch and brought about mistrust in decision making by Modelo. By the year 1997, Grupo Modelo had 80 percent of all Mexico beer export. In addition, Modelo was exporting there brand of beers to 143 countries. (www. businessweek. com/globalbiz/content/aug2008). Although Modelo is well known for their brand distribution of Corona Extra and Corona Light, they also distribute other beers such as Modelo Especial (this happens to be Modeloââ¬â¢s second leading brand of beer), Victoria, Light Modelo, Pacifico, Estella, Leon Negra, Montejo and Negro Modelo. It is a proven fact that Modelo has done very well within the United States beer market and is still having continuous success in Latin America. The Next foreign market Modelo should step into must be the Asian market. This continent is understood to be huge consumers of beer, coming second after Western Europe. Modelo should try and make alliances with the top seller of beer within each Asia nation. Modelo should also try to relinquish their strong Latin background and try to incorporate them into the Asian culture. Although it is an applauded agenda for a business to strive for uniqueness, it is also a sensible idea for a business to be adoptive. Moreover, Modelo will have to send agents that will evaluate the business environment of Asia in order to know their style and likings when it comes to beer. Instead of concentrating on making huge profits by selling their products at high prices, they should focus on quality and make their product available for a reasonable price. This will enable the buyers of the beers realize the beer taste and then become a loyal customer. Modelo should also try to work together with local brewers within Asia. Modelo should also invest in advertisement and avoid having to make known to customers in Asia their beer rank number one in Latin America. Moreover, the focus should be on becoming the number one distributor of beer in Asia. Modelo should also seek to built factories or plants within Asia in order to do away with export prices and the trouble of transporting the beer. Building a plant in Asia will make their business seem more intoned with the Asian culture and allow Asians to look upon this company as one of their own. Normally, when a company presents itself as an outsiders, they tend to have a difficult time adjusting to their customers. If Modelo follow this strategy of adapting to the way of live by their customers in Asia, they would not have such a difficult time selling their products. Although Modelo is known as the most successful beer distributor in Latin America, this company still has to deal with competition. One major competitors of Modelo is InBev. InBev is a Belgian-Brazilian brewer that took over Anheuser-Busch for $52 billion. Furthermore, 50% of Modelo is owned by Anheuser-Busch. This puts Modelo in a difficult predicament. Modelo also stands at a disadvantage because InBev bought Anheuser-Busch and Anheuser-Busch owns fifty percent of Modelo. The strategic response Modelo can imply to the competition of InBev is to pay out Anheuser-Busch, so Modelo can once again decide their business agenda without any interference. This seems to be the best strategy for Modelo because Anheuser-Busch will always cater to InBev because thatââ¬â¢s who owns their business. Furthermore, Modelo needs to focus on maintaining their reputation as the best beer distributor in Latin America. The only chance InBev have of taking that title away from Modelo is by buying Modelo. The Corona Beer is still a success worldwide as well as in Mexico and Modelo needs to consider that fact as an advantage. Diversity in the ââ¬Å"world of businessâ⬠is always a good thing. Furthermore, it enables a business to grow and get more customers. Modelo should diversify their business. Modelo should consider getting into the soft drink business. This is a way to gain a larger consumer base. Although Modelo is doing well selling beers in Mexico, a lot of Mexicans donââ¬â¢t drink alcohol or are underage to consume alcohol. Getting in the business of selling soft drinks would be a very smooth transition because Modelo is a popular a successful company. Analysis of the Relative Merits of the CAMP, FAMA and French Mode Free Essay Example, 1500 words
The Fama-French Model has proved to be the most viable challenge towards the CAPM. Empirical evidence proves that the multi-factor Fama-French model has certain advantages over the CAPM because CAPM assumes that investors price only the market risk. Evidence shows there are a number of non-market risk factors which needs to be priced. Fama-French Model thus assumes two more risk factors: SMB, which is the difference between the return on a small stock portfolio and return on a large stock portfolio, which is the difference between the return on a high book-to-market stocks portfolio and return on a low book-to-market stocks portfolio. The CAPM has oversimplified the model of excess return which is rather complex. Fama-French model has considered the market as a whole. It considers market caps and book-to-market ratios. This model has gained recognition in portfolio management. For example, Morningstar. com classifies mutual funds and stocks on the basis of these factors (Bheenick B rooks, 2009). According to Madanoglu (2005), the Fama-French model continuously proves to be better than the CAPM in explaining the variability of returns of lodging stocks. Considering CAPM assumptions, market beta cannot be a complete explanation of risk.

Reoccurring vs. Recurring Choosing the Right Word
Recurring and reoccurring share a common root and refer to an event that happens more than once, but the two terms have distinct differences in definition. Understanding the difference between the words will help you describe events more clearly and accurately. How to Use Recurring Recur is a verb that describes an event that happens regularly and repeatedly, and is therefore predictable. The sunset recurs because it happens reliably every night. A recurring meeting is one that happens on the same day every week or month. A cable subscription is recurring because you are charged every month. The word recurring is more common than the word reoccurring. How to Use Reoccurring Reoccur is a verb that describes an event that repeats at least one time, but not necessarily more. If the reoccurring event does repeat more than once, the repetitions may be unpredictable. Natural disasters or physical trauma reoccur. While medical symptoms for chronic diseases may recur, efforts can be made to ensure that damage to a joint does not reoccur. How to Remember the Difference To understand the somewhat nuanced difference between these two terms, it is useful to examine their roots. Recur derives from recurrere, the Latin word meaning ââ¬Å"to run back.â⬠Reoccur stems from the prefix re- and the verb occur, which means ââ¬Å"to happen.â⬠A helpful way to remember how to differentiate between the two words is to pay attention to their origins. Remember that reoccur derives from re- and occur. Reoccur means that an event has re-peated, but does not imply that the event happens on a regular basis. Examples The best way to learn the difference between recur and reoccur is to study real-life examples of word usage. The following examples offer deeper insight into how the two terms are used and how to differentiate between them. After the financial crisis in 2008, banks created new systems so that the crisis would not reoccur. Reoccur is used in this instance because it refers to an event that has happened in the past and could potentially happen again, but is not guaranteed or predictable. The actor was happy to learn that he would have a recurring role in the showââ¬â¢s first season. Recur is used here to mean that the actor will appear regularly on the show, and people will be able to anticipate seeing him on screen. In contrast, a reoccurring role could be one where an actor shows up throughout the series more than one time, but not at expected intervals. The reoccurring flood conditions forced many residents of the coastal town to temporarily evacuate from their homes. Reoccurring is used here to show that the coastal town has experienced flooding more than one time, but that it is not necessarily an event that happens at regular intervals or that has happened repeatedly in the past. Each year, the recu rring monsoons in Tucson create thunderstorms with stunning lightning displays at night. Recurring is used in this sentence to emphasize that the monsoons occur on an annual basis. They happen predictably at the same time each year. Another recurring natural event is snowfall in the mountains; however, if the snowfall takes place in an area that does not get snow every year, the event would be reoccurring rather than recurring. She adjusted her lifestyle to deal with the recurring symptoms of Lyme Disease and maintained a healthy lifestyle avoid a reoccurring bout of the flu: In this sentence, recur refers to symptoms that repeat at regular intervals. Meanwhile, reoccur refers to bouts of the flu, which can happen more than one time but are not guaranteed to happen more than once or at regular intervals. It is important to pay attention to the distinction between of these two words with regard to physical illness.Presidential elections recur every four years, and sometimes the same i ssues from the previous one reoccur in the next. Presidential elections can be marked on a calendar and are anticipated on a regular basis; thus, they are reoccurring events. However, the issues that the candidates debate during their campaigns may or may not repeat from year to year. There is no guarantee that the same topics will be discussed, or reoccur, during subsequent elections.

Contract And Health Computing Services â⬠MyAssignmenthelp.com
Question: Discuss about the Contract And Health Computing Services. Answer: Introduction The Health computing services made a contract with a large international organisation (the Contractor) for taking the services of centralised computing system. As per this, it was a contracted that high quality services related to primary and secondary data centre facility will be provided. The data centre is a service that is used for housing computer systems and related elements like telecommunication and storage. As per this facility, the data centre will support in teaching at regional and other metro hospitals (YUAN, GAO, YANG, and ZHANG, 2011). Besides this, it guaranteed the recovery of crucial information if lost and a high degree of flexibility in handling fluctuating demands in health. The contract was arranged initially for 4 years, according to which current agreement will run till 2016. However, the management of centralised computing system was not done properly by Health because of which the additional cost of Health in IT services increased a lot. Apart from this, the financial management was also poor where a lot of variations were found. The prepared budget and expenditure occurred did not match properly. Pre Award (Major Issue) The issues were many in the management of contract and its expenditures that were incurred on IT services as a result of frequent errors in IT systems. Author analysed that the contact was developed for Health sector and was expected to record the budget of entire contract properly in sufficient manner so as to keep track of various expenditures incurred (Resh and Marvel, 2012). Besides this, author evaluated that it was expected to check invoice details as well so that a justification related to contractual expenditures can be checked. There were different variations in the contract for which, health did not track expenditures against these variations. As such Health failed to keep track of actual expenditures against the determined budget. Author also identified that company did not maintain a standard procedure to track all types of costing, variation in the contract and differences raised after making variations in initial contract (Rene, 2010). According to Author differences an d expenditures were recorded in a number of places due to which, it created confusions. In addition to this, there was no arrangement of coding various invoices to the contract number which made it difficult to identify that how much was the actual expenditure. In the mid of 2014, the team of Heath attempted to monitor and write down all expenses manually on the basis of invoices totalling (Olatunji, 2014). However, this procedure was not reliable as Health did not follow a stable route to circulate the invoices between groups. The contract managers checked the rates of the invoices, where it was found from the invoices that many of them were overcharged (Joaquin, and Greitens, 2012). Only 1 invoice revealed the exact rate on which the contract was agreed upon. Apart from this, author examined that Health also entered into various lease agreements and that also without having a full knowledge of arrangements within it. In many of the lease arrangements they did not have authority fo r it as well. In such condition, where, company did not have the proper knowledge of lease type, it classified the lease arrangements improperly. As a result, Health made a breach of Treasurers instruction 822. Thus, it is clear that Health was suffering through a number of issues in the management of data centre and contract related to it (Yucong, 2012). Post Award (Critical Analysis) As per the above issue identified in Health related to financial management of data computing system, it is evident that it is essential to monitor and maintain the records of each and every cost that is incurred by company. According to author, in practical world, the companies enter into a number of contracts and also have variations in them timely. As per this, there must be a centralised system and a procedure which can keep track of all the transactions, changes and cost related information (Resh and Marvel 2012). In Health organisation, there were various areas in which mismanagement occurred that resulted into increased costs for business. Invoices that were made for various types of expenditures were also not recorded properly, because of which ultimately, the firm was not able to differentiate between actual expenses and the budgeted figures. Author argues that, if a company enters into a contract for any type of services, it is essential to be in line with all types of vari ations made in it as well. Most of the times, it is apparent that there are many employees who use to handle a single unit (Mikuov-Meri?kov and Nemec, 2013). In such situation, it becomes confusing to decide that who will execute a particular function. Therefore, for each kind of work there should be a single person who is assigned with a particular task. Yucong (2012) contradicts that the major necessity while entering into a contract is to have a full knowledge about the deal in which a person is making agreement. In case of less knowledge, a person may breach a crucial condition that can cost highly. Apart from this, companies may hire a professional in the field of finance who has a diverse knowledge of financial matters. Thus, author analysed that it will help in managing different contracts, budgets and variations in terms and conditions of contract in a systematic manner. A standard guideline explaining various policies and procedures must also be there which can help in gett ing all processes and functions lined in systematic manner. Health can also adopt an option of consulting an expert in the matters of financial deals who can keep track of all financial matters of organisation. The managers are responsible for studying the contracts, its terms and conditions while entering and agreeing on it so that differences can be identified in later stages related to changes made on it (Fleming and Koppelman, 2016). Conclusion The above report entails about a contract entered into by Health with the Contractor. It has been concluded in the report that as per the contract of availing services related to data computing, the contractor agreed to deliver a number of services through this system. But Health did not manage the system properly, because of which the company had to incur various costs on IT department. The company also failed to manage the finances and budget prepared for the new system. As per this, it has been recommended to arrange some specialists who can aid in giving advisory services for managing finances and expenses related to the data centre facility.
